Syllabus:

This course provides an introduction on how to build a custom interface for musical expression. We will discuss basic electronics and teach how to prototype and fabricate custom interfaces using micro-controllers such as the Arduino. This class is intended for the novice student to electronics, so don’t be afraid! The goal of the class is to have each student build their own custom MIDI/OSC interfaces for use with any software program or synthesizer. The final evaluation will be based on the student’s use of their interface as part of a final concert. This course is for upper-level BFA students who have successfully completed CS313 & MI420. Enrollment is limited to 12. This is a year-long class.
